Introducing Dominic Chipperfield

Drawn to the guitar at an early age, Dominic started like many young guitarists playing simplified versions of songs like wild thing, smoke on the water, sunshine of your love etc. Playing mainly electric guitar throughout his teens he was already dabbling in 4 track recordings and original compositions for fun, not realising this was actually his first small steps into the world of composing, recording and mixing.

It was not until his early 20's that he took up formal lessons when he discovered flamenco. He quickly became obsessed with the art form and soon was dedicating all of his efforts to flamenco, learning and playing in flamenco dance schools. After many years of playing and performing with flamenco dancers he met Liana Vargas and was introduced to her critically acclaimed flamenco Dance company 'Teatro Del Mundo' with whom he performed with for several years, giving him invaluable experience into the finer nuances and emotion of the art form and performing arts in general. This also gave him the opportunity to perform in prestigious festivals and venues such as WOMADelaide, Adelaide festival and Fringe festival.

In early 2003 he moved to Melbourne where he focused on his original compositions and recording/mixing skills. Recently collaborating with local film director Stephan Mack on his independent film 'Jacomo the actor', composing the theme music and recording/mixing the score, his past experiences proved invaluable in realising his goal of composing music for film.

Dominic's repertoire also includes a wide variety of traditional and classical pieces.

He performs as solo guitarists, or as a duo or group with a variety of musicians, including vocals, percussion, or violin.

Emma Rodda, (violin) VCA Trained has bowed in Orchestras, Irish bands, as well as with original duo "Shade" & recently in Adelaide Festival as part of a group paying tribute to Eva Cassidy. Emma has provided her inspired fiddle parts for numerous recordings most recently with Ben Mitchell.
