Introducing Georgie
Georgie is a 23-year-old singer/songwriter/guitarist from New Zealand.
After completing her honours degree in music and writing three albums of original songs, she moved to Melbourne to further her career.
Her individual, elegant lounge acoustic style immediately drew favourable comparisons with the likes of Norah Jones, Diana Krall, Corinne Bailey Rae and Eva Cassidy. Her mix of radio-friendly originals and cover songs continues to receive accolades from inner Melbourne audiences.
A discerning choice of songs and her uniquely personal delivery can leave an audience moved by shared emotion. Her arrangements of Kings of Leon ‘Sex on Fire’, Oasis ‘Wonderwall, The Beatles ‘Come Together’ and Foo Fighters ‘Hero’ are notable crowd favourites.
A professional approach to her music career has led to a creative balance between writing and arranging music for her acoustic sets, rehearsing with a violinist/back vocalist in a newly-formed duo, and practising with her seven-piece covers band ‘Moving On’, who make their debut performance on December 5.
